Those of you who’ve tried will know that VMWare Fusion 2 did not officially support shared disks. It was still possible to do this, but it was not ideal. Well this has now changed. VMWare Fusion 3 supports shared vdisks!
To enable this:
1.) Create a new disk and add it to all the virtual machines that will be sharing it.

2.) Add the following setting to the configuration file of each of the virtual machines that needs to access the shared disk: disk.locking = “FALSE”
3.) Use a cluster filesystem to prevent any corruption issues.
Cheers
F.

Update: I decided in the end not to blog about the installation issues I had, as it was sorted out fairly quickly by Oracle.
